Project Overview
In 2009, three friends were at a birthday party. The celebration shifted out to a local bar for drinks. After the night and the birthday celebration ended, Hernan Cespedes, Dan Elliot and Jose Cespedes decided that it was a waste of time and money to have a regular birthday. So in 2010, they organized an event where people can have fun for less money and, at the same time, raise money for a charity. From that idea grew Spankyfest.
As animal lovers the trio decided the Humane Society of Greater Miami was the right fit; they are supported solely by donations and not government funded like other groups of this size. The HSGM does not receive financial funding from any national animal welfare organization. Why Spankyfest? Spanky is their dog. The friendliest American bulldog in the Grove, he needs your help. His friends need your help.
